Music and friends, these are a few of my favorite things

(Katelyn Read and band performing on My Carolina Today on Raleigh NBC affiliate, WNCN.)

This past weekend, I had the privilege of backing up a new friend in the local music scene, Katelyn Read.  It was her last show of the year, as well as a rare full band performance.  I played keys and guitar alongside Claybrook bandmates David Dollar on guitar and Dale Baker on drums. The bass player, Alex Bingham, is a new friend.

I love collaborating with and hanging out with fellow Raleigh-Durham area musicians!

Also, got to hear my buddy, Steve Daugherty, recite an original short story called Dumpster.  If you came to our Pour House show back in February, you heard Dumpster that night.

I finally met Brett Harris, another RDU area singer/songwriter that I’ve admired for the last few years. Brett performed a quietly engaging opening set with just his guitar and vocal.

What a great night all around! I hope to play more with Katelyn and her band in the future.
